Van Ness Center Plaza

Washington, DC

Built as a redeveloped park and the front door to a newly renovated office/ retail building, the park acts as a connection from the Van Ness Metro station to the office main entry, pedestrian and drop-off traffic along Wisconsin Avenue, and access into the Giant grocery story at the Southern end of the space.

To accommodate the various desire lines, an open space plan was used. Addressing a grade change from the street down to the park, the West side of the park is splayed open down the length to maximize views and access into the space.
